Very easy to read.
Not a screen like you would see on your phone…just straight forward directions with distance to go and what way to turn
Saves my phone battery because you don’t need to have your screen on on your phone
Not a big fan of the mounting to your handlebars…which uses thick rubber “band” material and I can see it eventually breaking…there are other options but they need to be ordered from manufacturer
I have been using the Poco X7 pro for a few days and I am very impressed by the phone’s performance. It has exceeded my expectations in terms of aesthetics, speed, gaming, and video performance.
The screen is great with 120 hz refresh rate and AMOLED display. It can output rich colors and dark blacks. The screen is very bright at 3200 nits and contents are visible even under direct sunlight.
I appreciate that the product came with a built in screen protector, silicone case, and a 90 watt charger with usb a to usb c cable. My previous purchase of the same phone did not include the charger, which prompted me to return the product.
Overall, the phone is of great value and seems to be durable. I will update my review for any updates I may experience.
0% -->80% aproximadamente 42-44 minutos
80% --> 100% aproximadamente 33-35 min
Key thoughts.
It relies on the phone app to navigate and track rides.
I appreciated the simple and effective display.
The turn by turn navigation was really good, a simplified map shows the key road junctions and it beeps once to get attention and then double beeps when you need to turn.
Battery life is good, I rode for 5 hours and it only lost about 25% battery so I am confident that it would be okay for a full day.
Overall, this is really impressive and an excellent purchase.
The first time I experienced my Beeline Velo 2 was on gravel roads and forest service roads in southern Arizona. Using the Beeline app was easy and intuitive and recognized the entire route (mostly off-road) that I entered. The device navigated my path accurately and mostly in a very remote area. Its display is bright enough to see in direct sunlight and its audible beeps before an upcoming turn were easily heard and helpful.
I read that some people don't like that the Beeline Velo 2 has to be used in combination with a phone running the Beeline app. Well, even if I was using the most advanced standalone navigation device available, I would still have my phone with me while riding. And I'm not going to mount my expensive phone on my stem or handlebar. I see the Beeline Velo 2 device as an extension of your phone, which enables the device to have a small form factor and be truly unique.
I really like my Beeline Velo 2! It works for my non-competitive yet adventurous style of riding.
The phone is fantastic!
Great performance, Awesome battery life and blazing fast charging.
Decent camera not super good.
Speakers could be better.
OS is full of awesome features.
I use it with Tello, I get LTE consistently, fast and reliable. Sometimes I get 5G.
Phone calls are reliable, way better than my previous X6 pro.
Overall, I love this phone and it works with Tello without issues.
Must be on T-Mobile or sub-provider like Mint Mobile.
Very fast, very light and compact but the screen is still large.
Very nice OLED screen visually.
SOFTWARE IS THE BEST IN THE ANDROID SPACE.
XIAOMI for the win.
Comes with an ultra fast 90watt fast charger (just need a simple 2-prong Euro-USA plug adapter for American outlets).
Comes with a case.
Comes with a very low profile screen protector pre-installed (I think it has one anyway).
It seems like the battery usage is calculated instead of measured on the Velo 2, as I have USB-C right there on my handlebars of the E-bike and can just have it plugged in while using it. Despite this it registers as losing charge as you ride until you do a device restart on the app. And if you try to use it when it is fully charged it often cycles between the battery charge screen and the main screen. They should really fix this with a software update.
I also noticed that bicycle paths newer than about 5 years aren't offered for navigation. Instead, the navigation software directs you to busy streets even when a newer bicycle path will save you miles off your trip. This is the exact opposite of how you would expect navigation designed for bicycles should behave. I think this is due to Google maps prioritizing for roads over bicycle paths.
If you wear sunglasses and earbuds as you ride it may be difficult to see the screen or hear the navigation beeps. It looks like they might have a solution, but it involves a paid monthly subscription to a service that allows Bluetooth audio from the app. It feels like that service should be a freebie to me.
The GPS seems to come from your phone rather than the device, tying the device to your phone for navigation. And to function as an odometer, it requires you to record and save all of your trips. There are benefits to this though. Because your phone can do GPS with Wi-Fi signals, you can actually get velocity and tracking info when you bring your mobility scooter inside a store.
But bottom-line the best thing about the Beeline Velo 2 is the look and feel of the actual device. It's so slick that all the shortcomings I mentioned are forgivable.
I received the Velo 2 as an early Christmas gift and it is my first dedicated cycling computer. I put it use right away on various trips around Manhattan/Brooklyn and I have fallen in love with this gadget. It's pared down to just the essential functions, which are implemented really well. Once you get used to the 4-directional (D-pad) button interface it quickly becomes second nature, and allows you to toggle through navigation, speed, ETA/time left on route, battery levels of the Velo and your phone, etc. As an added plus, the speedometer is considerably more accurate than the one built into my bike (Vanmoof S3).
I'm a casual rider and usually ride no more than 20 miles a day. I've used this multiple times on just one charge and the battery still has plenty of juice left.
My only nitpick would be perceived build quality (it's all plastic) but it has held up fine even in moderate rain, and for the price of this product and the small size of its team, I think the overall execution is quite admirable.
If you don't like mounting your phone on your handlebars, or your choice of phone simply doesnt allow that as an option, consider the Velo 2--especially if you're a casual cyclist and don't need the added bells and whistles of a more advanced/expensive cycling computer. You won't regret it.
Die Planung also in Komoot.
So.
Full disclosure, I did NOT use the Beeline app to create the daily routes. I am really comfortable using Komoot to plan my routes, though I could have easily done the same in the Beeline app. Once I created 14 daily routes, importing them into the Beeline was a snap. Each days’ ride showed up in the "Ride" tab, so it was just matter of selecting the day’s route and heading out. I put my iPhone in airplane mode to save battery life and off I went.
My riding buddy also had the routes and used his Wahoo to navigate. 99% of the time we were in agreement when to turn (and there were a million turns each day), and I would say Velo 2 was more likely to be correct. Each day we rode down a combination of paved, hard packed gravel rails-to-trails, and even a few spots along the eastern coast that could be called walking paths.
For me, the Velo 2 simple display is pure genius. It gives you just enough information to easily anticipate turns, and an audio cue that is nearly perfect. My only tiny complaint was I am getting hard of hearing and wish the audio turn que was a bit louder - but it’s perfectly fine for most riders. Originally, I thought the audio que was coming from my iPhone but only realized that wasn't the case when I let my buddy try out the unit on his bike and realized the sound actually came from within the Velo 2.
As you can guess, it rains a lot in the UK, so the Velo 2's water resistance was tested for many hours. I never had a problem. Not quite sure if it is in fact waterproof, so I don't suggest you forget to take it out of your jersey and run it through the washer - which I almost did!
The claimed battery life of 11+ hours seems correct. We rode most days from 8:00 to 16:00 and the Velo had more than 50% battery life left. I charged it each night, so I never actually ran it until it died to find out the true battery life, but from my experience, 11+ hours seem reasonable.
In summary, I LOVE the Velo 2 and will continue to use it as my cycling computer. Some reviewers had less than perfect experiences with their Velo 2, but my 14-day, 8+ hour per day, rainy, sometimes bone jarring ride, has sold me. I hope the developers at Beeline resist all attempts to make it more complicated. Its beauty is its simplicity. If you want a detailed color moving map, heart monitor, altitude, etc. then Velo 2 is not for you, BUT for the rest of us, it is an amazing solution.
Accompany phone and app required to operate the GPS computer, which might be a deal breaker for some but perfectly find as I always carrying my phone with me on my rides. App is well designed and online route planner on Beeline website is a very good option, albeit still rough around the edges.
All in, this is a compact and very neat device, especially if you don't want to mount your huge phone (I'm using a folding one) to the handlebar.
Fee free.
Satellite GPS mapping and super easy to use.
Has a app to load routes. Or just use the app.
But my phone is busy with other apps open.
Helps find bike safe routing!!!
